Reduce the chances of being a victim of Identity Theft.

According to a report released by  the federal government Identity theft statistics are on the rise and measures to the extent that  one out of four households in the United States  has been a victim of identity theft.

A Federal Trade Commission survey states that in the last year alone, 10 million people have fallen victim to this rising crime waive.The number is shown to be on the rise as the use of online shopping by the average houshold increases through out the U.S.

Identity theft will costs victims billions of dollars in out of pocket expenses which in retrospect is just a small percentage to the losses that businesses and financial institutions consistently report.

 The Solution "freeze it!"Freeze Identy Theft In It's Tracks

A new Solution that is being offered by the three major credit-reporting bureaus is to freeze your credit report. This is a tactic that can beneficial when your identity has been compromised, and the culprit is persistent in the use of your identity to obtain credit wherever possible. This service is free if you are a victim of identity theft, and can be activated with simply mailing a certified letter to all three major credit bureaus. Depending in the state you are in and current legislation, it is also possible that if you’re not a victim of identity theft and simply wish to freeze your credit report, you can do so by paying a small fee for the service.  Below is a list of states that offer credit report freezing for all, and a list of states where you must be a victim first in order to initiate the freeze.
